Zainab’s Story

New Beginnings in Canada

Zainab at 42 years old, arrived in Canada on a temporary visitor visa after losing everything in the war in Gaza. She was forced to leave her mother and siblings behind in Egypt to find a better job, hoping to find stability and rebuild her life. In Gaza, she had a job and a home. But the war took away all she had worked for.

In Canada, she faced a new set of challenges. With limited English language skills and health issues, her job opportunities were restricted. Unable to afford a place of her own, she lived with her brother in a small basement apartment.

As their situation worsened, unable to afford even the most critical of essentials, Zainab got in touch with National Zakat Foundation.

Because of your Zakat and Sadaqah we were able to support her with food, transportation, medical support and essential clothing, crucial in helping her manage her day-to-day needs.

Zainab was able to enroll in an English language program as she was determined to improve her language skills. Your support gave her the stability she needed to focus on her education and health.

Like Zainab, many have lost their lives and dreams since October 2023. When you give Zakat for Her, you help our Muslim sisters focus on their futures and regain independence.
