This Ramadan, Start Close to Home

This Ramadan, Start Close to Home

Have you ever wondered what the people around you may be going through? Those who live next door, walk the same streets, and make up the fabric of your community...

What are they facing tonight?

Just a few doors away from you, there may be:

A single mother worried about how she’ll put food on the table for Iftar...

An elderly neighbour struggling with mounting bills and loneliness.

A refugee family experiencing their first  Ramadan in a new country, unsure if they  can keep a roof over their heads.

They aren’t just strangers—they’re our neighbours.

And our neighbours have a right over us.
This Ramadan honour the rights of your neighbours.

Why Give Locally?

Your local giving doesn’t just help those in need—it strengthens community bonds, inspires goodwill, and brings barakah to your wealth.

"Those who establish prayer and give Zakat...they are the ones who will be successful."

[Quran 31:4]

Time and time again, the Prophet ﷺ stressed on the importance of caring for our nieghbours. When you give locally, you honour his sunnah and fulfill the beautiful teachings of Islam.

Why Give Locally?

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “He is not a believer whose stomach is filled while his neighbour goes hungry.” (AlAdab Al-Mufrad)

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “None of you [truly] believes until he loves for his brother that which he loves for himself.” (Bukhari and Muslim)

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Jibril kept advising me about treating neighbours kindly and politely, so much so that I thought he would order me to make them my heirs.” (Bukhari and Muslim)

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "A believer to another believer is like a building whose different parts enforce each other." The Prophet (ﷺ) then clasped his hands with the fingers interlaced (while saying that). (Bukhari)

Narrated Aisha: I said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! I have two neighbors; which of them should I give a gift to?"The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "(Give) to the one whose door is nearer to you" (Bukhari)
