SUPPORT SUDANESE EVACUEES

Stand with Sudan: Supporting Evacuees in Canada

Since the start of the ongoing conflict in Sudan, countless families have been forced to flee their homes, leaving behind everything they know and love. Many have sought refuge in Canada, hoping for safety and a chance to rebuild their lives. Due to a lack of media attention, they have not received the support they desperately need. At National Zakat Foundation, we are committed to stepping in as champions for these families.

Our Response: Immediate and Essential Support

Currently, there are over 150 Sudanese evacuees in shelters within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), with many more outside this region. These families have faced unimaginable hardships in recent months, fleeing their homes with nothing but the clothes on their backs and undertaking perilous journeys in search of safety.

We have partnered with Nisa Foundation to support these families in their journey to healing and self-sufficiency. Our top priority is to get these families out of shelters and provide them with financial support to cover their essential needs.

How We’re Responding

  1. Securing Safe Housing: Ensuring each family has a safe and stable home.
  1. Financial Assistance: Providing financial support to cover essential needs including food, clothing and basic furniture.
  1. Settlement and Integration Support: This includes assisting with paperwork, registering children in schools, and helping with employment opportunities.

Why We Need Your Support

Your support is crucial. By donating, you are directly helping Sudanese families and individuals secure safe housing, meet their basic needs, and resettle into their new homes.

Your generosity can help them thrive in their new homes.

A simple "thank you" or prayer for you is not enough to express my gratitude. You relieved my hardship and brought joy to my heart and my children's hearts. May Allah bring joy to your hearts, ease your affairs, and grant you goodness in this world and the Hereafter. May Allah open doors for you as you have relieved our worries, O Most Merciful, Most Compassionate. You have proven that the world is still full of goodness, and all praise is due to Allah. My son and daughter pray for your well-being and peace of mind.
