Since November 2023, National Zakat Foundation has been supporting Gaza evacuees with their financial and resettlement needs.

Why We Need Your Support
Update | Gaza Family Reunification Program
A second wave of Gaza evacuees have started arriving through the Canadian Government’s Family Reunification Program, which allows Palestinian Canadians to bring their extended relatives to Canada. While this new wave of Gaza evacuees already have families here in Canada, many of these families have already invested all their savings into helping their relatives cross the border to safety. As a result, they are pressed for space, food and other basic needs, unable to sustain their relatives’ livelihoods in Canada.

National Zakat Foundation Canada has partnered with PSSAR (Palestinian Students & Scholars at Risk). PSSAR is dedicated to connecting Palestinian students with academic opportunities in Canada, providing them a chance to rebuild their lives through education. With your support, National Zakat Foundation can further support these students and scholars by addressing their critical needs, including food, housing, and utilities to ensure they can focus on their academic growth and personal healing. Request for Privacy and Confidentiality
The families have requested that unless they give express permission, that media outlets as well as elected officials respect the privacy of all evacuees from Gaza when they land. It is important to note that many of them have just been through extraordinarily difficult circumstances and it is not appropriate to turn that moment into a photo op.
**Your donations will be directed to support Gaza Evacuees in Canada. In the case of any excess funds, they will be directed towards supporting eligible beneficiaries as most urgently needed.**

Yes, National Zakat Foundation is a registered charity in Canada. When you donate online by credit card, your tax receipt is issued immediately to your email. For other donations, hold on to your transaction receipt, your tax receipt will be sent to you in February of the following year.
