Do children pay Zakat?

There is a difference of opinion here. However, the stronger opinion is that Zakat is to be paid on the wealth held by minors even before puberty. This is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to take from their wealth and give it in Zakat until they are able to act on this obligation themselves.
