Hayat's Story
After losing her husband to war, Hayat fled to Canada to provide a better life for herself and her teenage children, who needed safety and stability in their lives.
But her husband’s death and her war-torn homeland haunted her, leading her to develop PTSD and severe depression. Hayat wanted to be able to go out and work, but her mental illnesses prevented her from leaving the house for days at a time, and as she continued to struggle, she was eventually hospitalized.
Seeing her struggle to maintain her finances and buy essentials for herself and her kids, a friend of Hayat’s recommended she ask NZF for assistance.
Alhumdulillah we were able to help relieve some stress off her shoulders with aid to purchase winter clothing for her and her children. With the help of her mental health professionals, Hayat is continuing along in her journey to try to and build a life for her family in Canada.
